Dipnetting- 21Jul2014

These two...

Nick, Cody & Caleb- very grateful we were allowed to come along to catch some salmon!
Wind-blown look

Cody cleaning one of the bigg'ens I caught, well, he swam into my net

Filleting our 54 fish (minus the one Cody let slip away into the depths)
Fillet master
Successful day, although we were struggling on three terrible hours of car sleeping

Reed Lakes- 14 Jul 2014

Wilson swims in any water possible

We made it to Lower Reed Lake!

family photo op

Cody was annoyed when I asked him for a picture as Wilson was shaking off water

Post lunch cuddles

Amy and Declan at the waterfall
We made it to Upper Reed Lake- 2014

same nap rock, two years earlier (August 2012)
'You're taking a picture, right now?!' (Cody was hanging out of the ledge)

We made it to the ridge, the B-29 was in view!

View back the way we'd come

Amy and Declan enjoying the view

Cody was worried about the descent

One of my favorites

The boys didn't want to take our picture so we resorted to this
Cody had to help Declan off the rock

Wilson refused to be in the picture

Mountain bird that Cody asked me to photograph for identification later

View back toward Lower Reed

Tired pup

Tired, grouchy pup (snapped at Declan when he tried to sleep on him)

We met Tyler at Upper Reed and he joined us for the ridge climb and a beer afterward

Fourth of July at Harding Icefield

I set off with a friend to do the hike up to Harding Icefield, near Seward yesterday. We had great weather and considering Cody and I did this hike one year ago in a constant downpour, made me appreciate it even more.

One of the first big views

View back toward the outwash

Not sure if you could find a cuter puppy

Enjoying a break before the final push
Declan & I

Enjoying the 360 degree views at the top

trusty ol' pack

Declan was tired so he put himself to sleep

Our group

One of my favorites... .we all did our best to final the best spot to lounge

Poor Declan... being 8 weeks old is hard

Just a few of the beautiful flowers along the way

I'm particularly proud of this one, mom and baby

They let me get fairly close- then I didn't feel guilty for not bringing my telephoto

Last great view on the descent
