Some progress made...
My day was brightened after finding this in my mailbox... Thanks everyone!
We have been making a little progress with the whole planning process. We've realized how complicated our situation is, with Cody moving to Florida October 19 already! But, we decided to go through Fr. Beran in Wayne for our marriage prep. We realized we wouldn't have any real ties to Lincoln after December, and at least my family will be in that area. Our first meeting with him is next Saturday, the 25th. Afterward, we'll be booking it down to the SDSU vs. Nebraska game in Lincoln with his parents and sister. If all goes well, we'll head to Fremont on the 26th too do our FOCCUS inventory so Cody won't have to make two trips over.
More good news: I got in touch with the Catholic chaplain stationed at Elmendorf and he was very excited that I was planning ahead (and would hopefully have all the pre cana and classes done while in Nebraska). He was very helpful but did mention that he would be leaving next August so we would have the incoming chaplain marry us come next fall.
Between meetings and busy work today, I was able to make it to Hobby Lobby. I found my accent flower/color. I'm leaning toward deep purple with a small accent of orange (I know you'll approve, Mother).
And thanks, Darci, for the wedding book... I might not have time to go through it all right away, but I'm sure it will be a nice resource!

We're Engaged!

| The scrapbook page |
Cody popped the question this Tuesday while we were visiting his family back in Milford, IA. He was quite the sweetheart and put a lot of thought into the proposal. He added a new page to the end of the scrapbook I made him a few Christmases ago that said "Our new beginning, Will you marry me?". Knowing my disdain for public proposals, he waited until we were alone and in our favorite outfit: sweatpants. He did a great job picking out the diamond (I kinda helped him pick the setting. ok, I insisted). I'm lucky to have found such a great guy, although, I'm not sure about joining his crazy family. just kidding... :)
