A special thanks to Darci and Kayla for braving the Black Friday crowd and meeting me in Sioux City for some dress shopping. We accomplished quite a bit in the way of Christmas shopping, but I'm only more conflicted as far as a wedding dress... hopefully I'll be able to make up my mind here soon!
And Happy Birthday, Rory! (I'm an aunt x 2 now!)

Monthly Ticket Price Update
Looking at a week's stay, lowest roundtrip price possible (usually includes at least one plane change/layover):
Minn- Anc = $536
Columbus- Anc =$567
Omaha- Anc = $559
St. Louis - Anc = $570
Chicago - Anc (direct) = $436, still the best deal, although I don't know who would actually fly out of CHI
However, since Denver has cheap flights out to Anchorage ($360) it might be most cost effective to say, get a flight on Southwest from Omaha-Denver for about $79, then hop a flight to Anchorage from there (I believe with Delta). Just something else to consider.

Hoarder No More!
Home for the weekend, I dove straight in to tossing old shit (for lack of a better word) out. I realized I was quite the hoarder for many, many years. I found oodles of old math notes and homework from high school, about a million strips of negatives (I've probably spent over $1000 on developing pictures and photo albums), and random notes, straps, and receipts. I suppose now that I'm graduating and getting married, I should throw some of this old stuff away.
My progress thus far... you should be happy, Mom!
My "To Keep" box... funny to relive all these memories: Tweety, the elephant Elysia and I gave a 'haircut', beanie babies, hippo with babies, bunny from Easter, and of course, Max
Cody update: I haven't heard much from the boy lately. This weekend was the first major event for the club. Cody's been working 0645-2200 yesterday and then again today. Although I can't rationalize cocktail hour and dinner as 'work'. Cody's been pretty tired at the end of the day, but has been meeting a lot of people. Anyone from the midwest that finds out he's from Iowa is always excited to find a midwesterner working at Mountain Lake. Cody's been enjoying getting paid weekly, and is really looking forward to his check after this weekend. The temperature was only 40 degrees this morning, which made for a chilly shotgun start. Who knew Nebraska's high temp may end up being higher than Orlando's?

Officially Done with College Classes
I can officially say I've completed all my college classes. I took my last college final yesterday. I probably didn't prepare as much as I should have, but I have self-diagnosed severe super-senioritis. It all turned out ok, though, says my alter-ego that doesn't care about grades and GPAs. We has took a predictor test for the NCLEX.. the bogus test predicted I have a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX. That means I don't need to study, right? ;)
Anyway, now all I have left until graduation is 174 hours on the Labor and Delivery floor at St. Elizabeth's here in Lincoln. I'm working nights (which I prefer) but my preceptor works quite a few in a row... I'm hoping I'll get some good sleep on those days or else I may be pretty useless.
I have a few more requirements for ROTC (fitness test, Dining Out), but that's about it. I'm in charge of the commissioning ceremony, so I'll be working on the program, script, slideshow, etc. It's always something, it seems. Althought, today marks a historic grown-up event; I purchased my mess dress uniform (had to cough up a handsome chunk of change to do it, too). That's just one step closer to 2d Lt!
Hope you all have a good weekend. Go Huskers!

Dress Shopping & Husker Weekend
Mom and I were able to make it to a couple dress shops here in Lincoln. I was disappointed that Ellynne's didn't have the dress I really wanted to try on, but I certainly found a few others that I loved. I tried on about 16 dresses on Friday, but am nowhere near ready to commit to one. Hopefully I'll be able to try some more here in the near future to get a few more opinions. (For obviously reasons, I can't post pictures, but if anyone would like the links to my top runners, just let me know.)
The Huskers (and all of Husker nation) enjoyed a great win over Missouri this weekend. I snapped a couple pictures Mom and Dad playing host to Jack and Mary.
They were thoroughly impressed with the fans and sea of Red... no fans like Husker fans!
Another reason to celebrate: it was my final stadium clean-up ever. After 4 1/2 years, I won't miss those nights at all. We tried to make the most of it:

A sad, but not completely unexpected phone call came this evening. My cat of 15 years had to be put down today. Saying goodbye to my first pet...
