Golf Course & Juneau

Here are a few pictures Cody took when he had the camera at work

We get down to business on our 48hr trip to Juneau

We got 2 out of 3, the last machine was behind locked doors

Downtown Juneau- FULL of cruise ship tourists

For Tim & Darci

Cody spotted this porcupine on our way to the glacier

Mendenhall Glacier

Toe in Mendenhall Lake

Nugget Falls

Later, we took a drive north in our free-upgrade 2014 Escape, which Cody enjoyed driving

Beautiful scenery

Shrine of St Therese

We made it to the end, having seen two black bears

And this guy was still where we left him

Only to be scared away by an oncoming motorcycle

But we certainly passed where he was lying

Short walk along the beach- rock hunting
We had a hard time finding a place to eat that night, so we decided to hit up the recommended restaurant across the bridge in Douglas. Our waiter put in two pizzas instead of half/half, so we decided that might be a sign to eat leftovers the next night
Friday morning, following breakfast at Paradise Cafe... most excellent almond cream strawberry croissant, we headed to the Hatchery

Millions of immature salmon

View toward downtown Juneau

Had to try Red Dog Saloon, although we didn't really enjoy it

Later that afternoon, we took a short drive, considered a hike, but it was rainy, the bears made us nervous, and a hiker had recently gone missing... so, next best thing? Mochas and games at a local joint called 'Coppa'
Who knew Otis had his own company?

Lost Lake, Lost Hikers 20-21 May

At the Primrose Campground trailhead

Beautiful Kenai Lake

Amy's ready to go!

Made it to the gorgeous waterfall! Wilson takes off his own pack when we do

We enjoyed the view and the excuse to sit

How much of the trail was... hence why we got lost for 3+ hours the next day

Kenai Lake from mid hike

Beautiful scenery

But a bit windy

The Lake! still frozen...

Ice covered, but sunny at 60 degrees

Our campsite, just about the flattest ground we could find

Cute little campstove we borrowed

It got a bit chillier as the night progressed

Enjoying a hard earned brew with the pup
Morning sun over the mountains

Hazy fog- confirmed wildfire smoke upon return to civilization

Wilson and Lost Lake (and the pack that was rubbed a sore under his arm... feel so bad)

The group, all smiles here before we lost the trail

Praise the Lord! We found the trail!

Taking in the view

Pup and pack

Checking in to record that we made it across!
