Day 7: Enjoying the last of Hawaii

We tried to squeeze out everything we could on our last full day on the Big Island. We drove to the town over for church (so chosen by the rave reviews of the local breakfast joint). We then enjoyed a HUGE hawaiian breakfast at the Hawaiian Style Cafe: Cody had Kahula hash and I had a pork omelet. We headed back to Waikoloa Village, then headed to our favorite beach, Hapuna for the afternoon. We enjoyed another beach afternoon, a couple drinks, then headed to the course restaurant since it was close.
We're pretty sure we dined next to a local celebrity, everyone seemed to know him and he had two houses on the island. oh, and his song was playing during breakfast

We got smart and brought the chairs and umbrella that afternoon for some beachside reading

Trying a little artsy-fartsy photography

Dinner at the course
Post dinner, trying not to think of it as our last night there
The hardest part of the trip was anticipating our departure... by mid-morning on Monday, I just wanted to get out of there because the countdown of hours was just too sad and pitiful.
Mimosas for breakfast, don't mind if we do

After we ate breakfast at Lava Java, we returned to the house to relax on the lanai just a little bit longer

and here came the turkeys

Packing up for our drive to the airport and car return (Cody wasn't so very sorry to be returning the Versa)

Needless to say, we had an amazing time! We're so very thankful to the Harris Family for offering their home to us! What a wonderful delight it was! Now, which island shall we visit next....
